Maple Street Parking Displacement Study (City of Hillsboro, OR)

David acted as the GIS Lead when the City of Hillsboro wanted to study the effects of parking displacement resulting from the removal of on-street parking for a potential bike facility on Maple Street between 13th and 18th Avenues. David developed an approach that estimated parking displacement pressure based on network distances away from segments of Maple Street where parking was slated to be removed. This pressure analysis was used to inform a future space occupancy model where existing parking survey results of nearby streets were adjusted. In a follow up parking survey, it was found that this model predicted changes in parking occupancy with a high degree of accuracy.
