Big River Park Conservancy Protect Grant

David served as the Civic Analytics Lead for the Benefit-Cost Analysis of the Big River Park Conservancy PROTECT Grant Application, focusing on ecosystem services and infrastructure resiliency. David developed the approach for ecosystem services analysis using the FEMA Benefit-Cost Calculator and land cover data to quantify benefits from a proposed floodplain restoration. He also conducted a comprehensive bridge disruption analysis using barrier augmented network analysis and outputs from Replica Place’s activity-based model. By testing how drivers would route after a bridge closure based on expected trip distributions, Alta provided estimates of economic losses from bridge disruption, supporting the project's resiliency benefits assessment and narrative. David’s contributions both to the analysis and narrative were significant contributors to securing a PROTECT grant for flood plain restoration.
